That is today, because i have so much time on my hands that I dont know what to do with my time. I should be doing work. Test tomorrow and I have to re-write my proposal for digital filmmaking. But it's whatever at this point. Once Ellen is over i'll get dinner and take it from there.
I am succeeding in my quest to find awesome couches. I found one in the basement of Village Lutheran Church. It's very comfy AND I can sit upside down on it. tis fantastic.
It's raining today. The faculty/staff vs students football game was cancelled, which is sad cuz i was gonna kick some major teacher ass today. oh well. It got postponed to the 28th, so I'll update on that after it happens.
The rain makes me think of Mika's song called Rain. It's a fantastic song, everyone should listen to it, expecially on days like today was, rainy and gross.
More than this
Whatever it is
Baby, I hate days like this
Caught in a trap
I can't look back
Baby I hate days like this
When it rain, rain, rains
gah i should be doing something. I'm watching ellen, that's something. After dinner i'll take a shower so i can focus on hw.
Here's the link to "Rain"

what i would give to be young again
Honestly, I wish I could be young again. People will say, "You're young, you're 19. You have your whole life ahead of you." Not tonight. I never wish I was back in high school, but tonight made me want to be a part of a high school youth group.
Tonight over at VLC my friend was hosting a blacklight youth event for the confirmation kids and slightly older kids. The ARK, the praise band I am a part of, was scheduled to play, so I was going to be there anyway, but I helped set up and had fun throughout the day. There was one major bump in the road: a transformer blew up, causing the church and the school to lose power for a couple of hours. Me, 2 of my friends and Pastor were setting up in the dark, praying the ConEd people would fix it in time. Thankfully they did, so we were all set, setting up blacklights and couches and the sound system for the band.
We had the lights out and blacklights on while we waited for children to show up. We had charged up some of the glow in the dark frisbees bought for the occasion and threw them around with my bandmates. Eventually it was time to start. The band played 2 songs, Pastor had a short message, and we played 2 more songs. We kicked ASS, btw. Even in the dark, lit by blacklights :) The children were then released to the food, made crafts for old people and we set up the gym for the blacklight funtimes.
I gotta tell ya, this was one of the awesomest things I've ever been a part of. It started out as us throwing the frisbees and glowing bouncy balls all over the place. Then it turned into organized games like ultimate frisbee. All in blacklight and glowstick lights. (Everyone had to wear a glowstick so we could see people in the room.) Overall it was an awesome event.
This is what I miss about being in a youth group. I miss the lock-ins, the trips, and the crazy times and memories we make together as crazy Lutheran church kids. I know if I show up at something, they aren't going to turn me away, but I have to separate myself from them. The kids are younger than me now and it's getting harder to relate to them. But it's nights like tonight that help me remember the good times and just let loose my inner child, even for just a couple of hours.
