Today is Valentine's Day. For most other people it's one of two things: for couples it's a day to be publicly mushy about their relation. For others it becomes what is known as "single awareness day." I found it refreshing to see some statuses on facebook about using Valentine's day to show your love for those you care about in general, making the day slightly more positive. But what about me?
For me, it's only Tuesday.
Seriously. I went through my schedule like it was any other Tuesday. I woke up at 8, fell back asleep until 9:30, making it out the door at 9:50 for work at 10. I went to chapel, hung out with peers, went to my two classes, hung around the house, went for some dinner and then off to night class. Then to the new media lab to finish up some work. Just a regular Tuesday in my book.
I'll admit there was some different about today, but it was just Valentine's day related, maybe. I don't know. Despite recieving little valentines from some of my friends, today didn't feel any different. Probably because I find myself not having real expectations for holidays anymore. I never expect anything on valentine's day, so the fact that I got these little valentines is good enough for me.
Fun fact before I finish: Valentine's Day is the day that the martyred saint Valentine (or Valentinius, for those of you who are into Latin) was buried. How's that for a cheery holiday? Just putting that out there.
Happy Tuesday!

Life as I know it
This title may lead you to believe that this is going to be some kind of deep post.
You would be wrong.
These days are slow so i feel i have nothing to say. Well, as it would turn out, I have two things to say. The first is that I actually delivered part of the message in chapel this past Thursday. People said I did a good job. Me, I couldn't tell you if they were right. I was shaking the whole time (though that seemed to be not visible at all to anybody) and I can't remember what I said. I have it written down somewhere, but I can't find it at the moment. When I do I'll post it. However right now it is late and I'm not feeling it. It was a rush though, I'll tell you that. I purposely didn't eat beforehand so I wouldn't puke all over the chapel. But all went well, as my two other friends gave great messages as well and my friend sang the song "Ruin Me" amazingly.
The second is that I'm still finding cool music. This next band I found while I was listening to the Field Brothers (mentioned in my last post). They are called the Cockroaches, and they are an 80s Australian pop rock band. Crazy thing is that the 2 guys from the Field Brothers (Paul and John Field) actually made this band years ago with Anthony Field (the blue wiggle) and Jeff Fatt (the purple wiggle), as well as two guys named Tony Henry and Phil Robinson. They were slightly short lived, only toured for a few years, but that was really by their choice. I'll let you look that one up.
Anyway, here's some links
